Flooding draws crowds to Downtown Little Rock riverfront

This weekend, the Arkansas River in Little Rock reached its highest point since 1945, with the water expected to rise.

The flooding has become a spectacle, drawing crowds of people to the Downtown Little Rock riverfront.

“It's amazing. It's not good but it's amazing to see,” Little Rock resident Ka Robinson said.

Heavy metal fans questioned whether floodwater would impact Saturday’s Judas Priest show at First Security Amphitheater. To their relief, the show went on as planned.

“We're a lot higher up than we look over here, and we're way higher up than the north side of the river,” said Diana Long, director of River Market operations for the Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau. “We're really lucky that we're not being severely impacted by this.”
