A Pine Bluff man has been arrested after police said he tried to pay for a meal with a stolen credit card. The only problem was the credit card he allegedly stole belonged to the employee he handed it to.

The victim reported the credit card was stolen on June 17 at the United Filling Station on Dollarway and Hutchinson Streets in Pine Bluff. When she returned to her vehicle, she found it was broken into and her purse was gone.

Then two days later on June 19, the victim told police she was working at a restaurant when a man she was serving, 21-year-old Shamon West, handed over the stolen credit card to her. When she went to ring up the bill, she noticed it was her card he was trying to pay with.

She immediately called police and West was arrested. Police say that her driver's license, other credit cards, and her social security card were found on West during the arrest.

West has been charged with forgery, theft by receiving, and three outstanding warrants.
