FORDYCE, Ark. — Law enforcement officials and administrators with the Fordyce School District are currently investigating after they found a supposed "written threat to shoot up the school" at one of their elementary campuses.
According to reports, the alleged threat was found written in the bathroom of one of the elementary schools and said that they would reportedly "shoot up the school" on Wednesday, November 20, 2024.
Investigators are currently looking into the validity of the threat, but officials say all students and staff are safe. They also say that the elementary and high school buildings are secure.
Law enforcement presence will be increased for the remainder of the week and only staff and students will be allowed onto the campuses until further notice.
Anyone who would prefer to keep their student home from school on Wednesday can do so as the absence would be excused.
