Investigation underway after man killed at Amazon facility in Little Rock

The Little Rock Police Department is investigating after a man was shot and killed at an Amazon Fulfillment Center early Monday morning.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Little Rock Police Department is investigating after a deadly shooting happened at the Amazon fulfillment center in Little Rock.

According to reports, several shots were fired at the fulfillment center in the early morning hours of November 13. Once officers arrived at the scene they found a young man suffering from several gunshot wounds.

The victim was later identified as an 18-year-old Amazon employee named Xanus Robinson.

He was taken to the hospital where he later died due to his injuries.

Robinson is remembered as a well-known member of the Jacksonville community.

Mayor Jeff Elmore of Jacksonville explained that the teen had a huge heart and added that he will be greatly missed in the community.

"I hated that it's one of our kids, you know, here in town. I had been introduced to him and had that connection with him and so you know, it just it makes it sting a little bit more," he said.

The Amazon public relations team released a statement that said, “We’re deeply saddened by the act of violence in our parking lot and our thoughts are with the victim’s family and loved ones.”

The company also explained that operations at the facility were suspended for the day and that both employees and partners were sent home with pay.

Police are still searching for information about the suspect, and anyone who may have any information that could help is encouraged to reach out to the Little Rock Police Department.
