Pope County Sheriff's Office investigate 'possible accidental drowning' of Pottsville man

The Pope County Sheriff's Office is investigating after finding a man who was involved in a "possible accidental drowning."

POPE COUNTY, Ark. — The Pope County Sheriff's Office is investigating after they found a deceased man who was involved in a "possible accidental drowning."

According to reports, just before 5:30 p.m., deputies were called to the scene on Lake Atkins off North Shore Road.

Once they arrived they found a deceased man later identified as 45-year-old Clay Bryant of Pottsville.

No other information has been released regarding this incident.

The Pope County Office of Emergency Management, Arkansas Game and Fish, and Yell County Mounted Patrol all assisted while at the scene,
