LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Pops on the River is returning for its 40th year for a night of family fun and fireworks in downtown Little Rock on Thursday, July 4.
According to our partners at the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, who presents the annual event, the festivities will take place in the River Market's First Security Bank Amphitheater.
Gates will open at 5 p.m., and entertainment will include a performance by Nicky Parrish featuring the group Kemistri, followed by Rodney Block, the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra, a special military salute, and a spectacular fireworks finale.
Fireworks will begin at 9:20-9:30 p.m. and are shot off the Main Street Bridge, which will close at 1 p.m. and reopen at 11 p.m.
The first 100 military members to check in will receive special giveaways, including free reserved seating, by showing their military ID at the information booth in the River Market Pavilion.
Amphitheater seating is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets to use or reserve seating for $15 online.
No fireworks, food, drinks, coolers, or pets will be allowed in the park. For more information call Amanda Copley at (501) 918-4539 or visit the event website here.
