Pulaski County sheriffs say scene involving 'barricaded subject' now clear, safe for travel

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office says the incident in the 17000 block of Batesville Pike in Sherwood is now resolved, and the area is safe for travel.

SHERWOOD, Ark. — Update: The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office said the scene is now clear, and the area is safe for travel.

According to authorities, the standoff lasted nearly four hours. It ended peacefully before 9 p.m. as a crisis negotiating team de-escalated the situation and got the man out without injury.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said the man is being treated at an area hospital.

No shots were fired during the standoff.

The Pulaski County Sheriff's Office is currently at the scene of an ongoing incident in the 17000 block of Batesville Pike.

According to reports, they were called to that location in response to a "male barricaded subject" inside of a home.

The details of the exact incident remain extremely limited at this time, but we will update you once we know more.

Police said that access to the area is restricted for the time being.
