Redfield man arrested after fight with referee at youth basketball game, discharging gun

SHERIDAN, Ark. (KTHV) - On Saturday, February 4 at around 6:30 p.m. the Sheridan Police Department responded to the Sheridan Parks and Recreation Center in reference to a fight where shots were fired.

SHERIDAN, Ark. (KTHV) - On Saturday, February 4 at around 6:30 p.m. the Sheridan Police Department responded to the Sheridan Parks and Recreation Center in reference to a fight where shots were fired.

According to the victim, he was refereeing a basketball game when 44-year-old Douglas Nutter became belligerent and was asked to leave due to "poor conduct." Nutter and his brother, Toby Nutter, then became louder and Toby punched the victim in the face.

The fight then made its way outside where Douglas discharged his firearm. At the same time, Toby chased the victim with a gun yelling, "run you little black [expletive]."

Douglas Nutter has been charged with aggravated assault, but his brother has not been arrested or charged with any crime.
