INDIANAPOLIS — A security camera caught the moment a car was set on fire before blowing up on Indy's east side.
Moments before it happened, another camera shows a man walking down Euclid Avenue near East Washington Street and Emerson Avenue holding a bicycle in one hand and a jug in the other around 4:45 a.m.
Another camera shows him walking up to the SUV, but because of the quality of the video you can't really see what he's doing, until you see the car burst into flames.
Seconds later, the suspect is seen riding off on his bike towards East Pleasant Run Parkway North Drive.
"I'm only working a server job, I have three kids, by myself," said Sierra Vasquez, the mother of three who had her car destroyed.
Vasquez says it happened a just over a week ago around 4 a.m. after coming home from work.
"I'm just trying to figure out why. Like, it doesn't make any sense. It's clearly a proposed act and why," Vasquez said.
She told 13News that she has no idea who would do this to her because she just keeps to herself and looks after her kids.
Now, she's without a car and a sense of security.
"I just had a baby. She's almost four months old. I got that car before I gave birth to her so I could have something reliable. Like I said, my son plays sports. My daughter does dance class. My kids have doctor's appointments, and I have to get to work. It's not easy to just get on a bus and get them to school and get to work in all that timing and stuff like that," Vasquez said.
According to Vasquez, her insurance lapsed while she was on maternity leave after having her baby.
"We already still owe the car company, it's Christmas time, so now I have to pull out cash for a new car or maybe even a new house for that matter," Vasquez said.
Vasquez says her son's coat, her laptop for her photography business on the side, her daughter's toys and several documents were also lost in the fire.
As for an arrest, police say they haven't been made aware of the case.
