Severe storms leave over 10K Arkansans without power

More than 10,000 Arkansans are currently without power as severe weather moves through the Natural State.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Update: As of 6:00 a.m., the number of power outages is now at 6,048 with most of those outages in Saline and Garland counties.

Over 10,000 people are without power as severe weather moved through Arkansas Thursday.

The state saw severe thunderstorms and multiple tornado warnings, with even a confirmed tornado near Hot Springs Village at 8:09 p.m. The storms impacted several areas like Pulaski and Saline counties, leaving thousands around the state powerless.

A large majority of the outages impact the central and north-central portions of Arkansas. Of the 10,186 people without power, 3,303 are in Garland County, 1,698 are in White County, and 1,256 are in Saline County. Marion County has reported 1,224 power outages.
