JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — Labor Day typically marks the end of the summer months, which means Arkansans made the most out of the holiday weekend— spending time with each other for what will be the last days at the pool this season.
That's why local water parks like Splash Zone in Jacksonville thrived with business as families looked to soak up the last bit of summer and spend some quality time in the sun.
"Typically on the last day we don't get that, it's very calm, maybe hanging out with your family first. it's been a good day. we weren't expecting too much of a expecting too much of a packed park," said Madison Davis, manager at Splash Zone.
Davis, who oversees Splash Zone operations, said the summer was amazing for their staff, who spent the last few months making sure every visitor had a fun, safe time at the park.
"I have the best lifeguards around, and they've been doing an excellent job keeping everybody safe, hot. weather, no incidences, just a safe, nice summer," she added.
While Monday marked the final day before closing Splash Zone's outdoor facility for the season, that doesn't mean families and people in the community have to say goodbye to the fun!
Davis said the community center in Jacksonville will remain open for parents to take their kids swimming so they can still enjoy the water even through the cooler months.
"We still have water aerobics to do. we have swim lessons, adult lessons, pair of babies swim lessons, which are really great, very successful," Davis described.
