BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. (AP) - Authorities say an employee of Nucor-Yamato Steel Company was killed in an accident at the plant in Blytheville.
Nucor-Yamato officials say 34-year-old Jon Bishop died while performing maintenance Saturday night. Mississippi County Sheriff's Sgt. Jeremy Sharp told reporters that Bishop and other employees were moving equipment when a strap broke and Bishop was pinned.
The body was sent to the state Crime Laboratory in Little Rock for an autopsy.
Nucor-Yamato released a statement expressing sympathy to Bishop's family and friends and saying the cause of the accident is still under investigation.
