PINE BLUFF, Ark. — As crews worked to restore power, neighbors joined to help each other clean up debris.
The storm damaged some areas, including Grant County and Jefferson County.
"When the daylight hit, it was just amazing how many trees were down, my neighbor's, the damage on their houses, my house," Pine Bluff resident Oscar Bullard said.
Bullard had an early start to the day when a powerful storm hit his house near the Pine Bluff Country Club.
"I heard a loud explosion downstairs and my front door," Bullard said. "I just heard glass shatter, and the security alarm was activated by then. It activated around 5:13 a.m."
The cleanup started shortly after.
"We are a close family here at the Pine Bluff Country Club, and we just started working together," Bullard said. "We texted some, checked on everybody, and just made sure everyone was safe. We were doing that five o'clock."
Before noon, crews started clearing streets to make way for line workers to restore power.
"We appreciate all their help," Bullard said. "We just hope that we get power very soon."
People over in Grant County are also dealing with the storm's aftermath.
In Sheridan, several local construction workers are offering services at no charge.
"It's tough for me to even find something to do because everybody's pitching in," Josh Kimbrell with Kimbrell Construction said.
Kimbrell is making his way through town, offering help to those with damage.
"Nobody around here wants a pat on the back," Kimbrell said. "We want to help folks, and money is not the main object. These people help us pay our bills, and caring for them when they're in need is really up to us."
Additionally, homes and businesses were also impacted. Sheridan's Post Office is closed for now because of roof damage.
"Maybe if I can keep my machine off the trailer," Kimbrell said. "Just follow the road, see who I can help," he said.
