LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Summit Utilities has now announced that its Summit Heating Assistance applications are officially open. The fund aims to help customers who are facing difficulties in paying their heating bills.
“Summit Heating Assistance Fund comes from Summit and customers who generously opt-in to donate to the fund on their monthly bill,” said Fred Kirkwood, Chief Customer Experience officer for Summit. “We are only as strong as the communities we serve, and that is why we support our service areas by offering programs to help those in need.”
The assistance program helps qualified Summit customers with up to $200 to pay their past-due bills between November 1 and March 29, 2024, or until the funds are used.
Anyone interested in applying for help must show proof that they live in either Arkansas, Oklahoma, or Texarkana, Texas. Customers must also show a copy of a past-due bill.
The assistance fund will not help those who have been making payments toward inactive accounts or any account that has been closed for more than 30 days.
The person applying for assistance must also be the same as the person listed on the account.
