BAXTER COUNTY, Ark. — On August 27, officials arrested a man from rural Mountain Home on an outstanding warrant.
According to reports, 33-year-old Kory Adam Charlton allegedly fled on foot from an Arkansas State Police trooper, which led to a two-and-a-half-hour manhunt.
He was spotted by a park ranger at the Henderson Park Campground on Lake Norfork and left in a red Ford F150 pickup truck as a passenger.
Officials later located the vehicle and performed a traffic stop on U. S. Highway 62 East. Charlton was seen lying down in the truck before he escaped and fled on foot into a wooded area on the south side of the highway.
Officers set up a perimeter and brought a canine tracking team to the scene. The Mountain Home Police Department assisted by launching a drone for aerial observation.
The canine tracking team found Charlton in the woods near Christiansen Road shortly later. He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Baxter County Detention Center on charges of a revocation bench warrant and fleeing on foot.
He is being held without bond and has a circuit court appearance on September 9.
The Baxter County Sheriff's Office was assisted in their efforts by the Arkansas State Police, the Arkansas Division of Correction Canine Team, and the Mountain Home Police Department.
