LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On September 5, Joshua Johnson was taken into custody and served a warrant for first-degree murder in connection to a shooting that occurred in 2023.
According to reports, officials responded to a shots fired call near Keller Drive on October 3, 2023. Upon arrival, officials located two victims suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
One victim, identified as 23-year-old Kumari Mayes, was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
After an investigation, 23-year-old Joshua Johnson was identified as a suspect and served a warrant for first-degree battery.
However, Mayes remained in the hospital until he succumbed to his injuries on May 28, 2024, which led to the charges against Johnson being upgraded to first-degree murder.
