Thief steals decor from beloved Little Rock Halloween display

Halloween is right around the corner, and one Little Rock man has been feeling pretty tricked after a thief targeted his beloved Halloween display.

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — We're less than two weeks away from Halloween, and Otis Schiller is someone who is all about the tricks and treats.

"They call me, you know, the Halloween King at Markham and Sun Valley," he said. "Probably 30, 40 years, maybe."

Schiller has been decorating his driveway and home for decades, all to the delight of trick-or-treaters. When looking at the dozens of decorations that cover nearly every inch of his driveway, it's easy to understand why.

What hasn't been easy to wrap his head around, though, is the actions of one person.

"It puts a sad note in my heart because I worked so hard, and try to make everybody enjoy the display," Schiller explained.

Something just as scary as the monster decorations— a thief.

"Just the other morning, 6:09 a.m., just parked his car, walked up, grabbed her, put her back in the car," he said.

'She' is a decoration.

In the video Schiller showed us of cameras outside his garage, you can see a person wearing a red and white jacket walk up and grab that decoration just a few days ago.

Unfortunately, it's not the first time this has happened.

"I'm not gonna say I hadn't had stuff stolen, but this year was the worst year," Schiller explained.

Neighbors called LRPD for Schiller. We asked the department for any information on this, and they're looking into it.

Schiller has replaced what was stolen already, with a few personal touches.

"What's so funny is I gave him a tattoo, so if he ever gets stolen, I know who he belongs to," he said, as he pointed to a string of numbers written in Sharpie.

He also added that he doesn't care about how much the decoration cost. What has been the most annoying is that it was part of the fun that was stolen this year.

"If they got any kind of gut or heart, bring 'em back!" Schiller said.
