NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Update: The North Little Rock Electric Department said they have now completed the repair and restored power.

Thousands of people in North Little Rock are experiencing power outages due to a vehicle accident that happened along AR-107 on Wednesday morning.

According to reports, a vehicle hit an electrical pole and caused significant damage. To fix this, the North Little Rock Electric Department must cut power to three circuits in the area. This is expected to impact about 5,000 customers in the area.

The accident also caused a gas leak so electric crews are waiting for that to be fixed before they can begin to fix the damage that was caused.

Crews are scheduled to begin work to restore power at about 12:30 p.m.

We will update with more information as soon as it becomes available.
