Two people arrested in White County after fentanyl investigation

Arkansas State Police says two people were arrested in White County on Feb. 5 after a fentanyl overdose sparked an investigation.

WHITE COUNTY, Ark. — Central Arkansas Drug Task Force (CADTF) agents, along with narcotics investigators from the Cabot Police Department and detectives from the Searcy Police Department, arrested two people in White County on Feb. 5 after learning of a fentanyl overdose that occurred in the Judsonia area.

Police said the overdose victim survived the incident, which led CADTF agents to develop Vic Foster Jr. and Abby Jones as suspects in the case.

After obtaining a search warrant, authorities from multiple agencies found Foster and Jones at the residence and were placed under arrest after finding "numerous items used for smoking fentanyl."

Additionally, investigators learned that Jones' five-year-old child was present while fentanyl was being used inside the residence.

"Fentanyl, especially the unexpected presence of fentanyl in other street drugs, poses a significant threat to an unsuspecting user," White County Sheriff Phillip Miller said. "Unfortunately, this has led to overdoses in White County. Fentanyl sales are a top target of our Drug Task Force, and I encourage any user who wants help escaping this terrible addiction to contact our Drug Task Force, who will be happy to make life complicated for the dealer and assist the user in getting treatment."
