Two people identified in fire department burglaries

SEARCY, Ark. (KTHV) – Two suspects have been identified in the burglaries of two fire departments in White County.

SEARCY, Ark. (KTHV) – Two suspects have been identified in the burglaries of two fire departments in White County.

John Rayburn and Cynthia Ashmore are suspects, according to the Searcy Police Department and the White County Sheriff’s Office. Files have been submitted to the Prosecuting Attorney’s Office for formal charges to be filed against the two.

On January 8, the North White County Fire Department had $2,200 worth of firefighting equipment stolen. On January 11, the Gum Springs Fire Department had $10,780 worth of firefighting equipment stolen.

Most of the fire departments property has been recovered, according to a statement from Sergeant Heather Zomant. The property was recovered by serving search warrants at several homes.
