CONWAY, Ark. — Due to a water main break in the raw water line from Brewer Lake to the Roger Q. Mills Water Treatment Plant, the ability of Conway Corporation to effectively produce the adequate and high demand of treated water to customers has been impacted.

To make sure that everyone continues to have a sufficient supply of water for their most critical needs, Conway Corp has issued a mandatory water cutback that is set to begin at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024.

Reports say that the quality of the water has not been impacted and the water is still safe for drinking.

Conway Corp will begin emergency repairs to the waterline on Friday, therefore the water cutback is set to be in place through Saturday evening. Customers will be notified once they can resume normal use of their water once again.

Customers are urged to refrain from certain activities such as washing cars, watering the yard, extensive use of washers/dishwashers, and long showers.

Here are some helpful tips on how you can conserve water:

  • Suspend irrigation entirely. Do not water any trees, lawns, grass, or other vegetation.
  • Delay washing clothes and washing dishes during the curtailment.
  • Do not wash vehicles, boats, etc., or water down driveways, sidewalks, or any buildings.
  • Do not fill, refill, or add to any indoor or outdoor swimming pool, jacuzzi pool, or fountain.
  • Delay showering until necessary. Turn off the water while washing your hair.
  • Turn off the water while brushing your teeth
