LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Update: The owner said the dog has been found safe, while Little Rock police confirm the car was located and the suspect has been arrested.

On Monday, thousands of people in Arkansas shared the story online of a woman's search to find her stolen car with her dog inside.

The driver, April Dooley, explained how she left the car parked for less than 10 minutes while she went into a store in Little Rock's SoMa neighborhood— and when she came out, the car was gone. Her dog was gone too.

Dooley admitted that she left the car running to keep her dog cool but said she had the keys with her while she was inside the store.

In the security video Dooley sent us, you can see someone get into her car and drive away right behind a police officer.

The Little Rock Police Department said that they are investigating the incident but Dooley is hoping that anyone who knows something can help get her dog back.

"I feel like I'm still a little bit in shock. Like it doesn't feel real, because if I let myself go. These tears come, and that's not helping anything, but it doesn't feel real," Dooley said. "It just happened so quickly like it was less than 10 minutes. It's just like, who does this? How does this happen?"

Dooley is also a travel nurse and is hoping to find her dog before she has to leave town and head back to work in another state.

She said that while the viral support on social media has been extremely helpful, she urges anyone who may have any information to contact her at (205) 602-1768.
