ANDERSON, Calif. — A woman has now been arrested and booked into jail for her involvement in the abduction of eight children from Arkansas.
According to reports, just after midnight on Saturday, a concerned person at a business in California called local police to request a welfare check on a group of six kids and the woman who was with them.
The caller explained that the woman was 'displaying bizarre behavior.'
Once officers with the Anderson Police Department arrived at the scene, they found the woman and the children in the parking lot. Police saw that the woman and kids were associated with a Dodge pickup truck with Arkansas license plates.
The woman was later identified as 36-year-old Trista Fullerton of Rogers, and records showed that she had a felony warrant for her arrest out of Arkansas for the 'abduction of eight children.'
She was then arrested and officers questioned her on the whereabouts of the other two abducted children. They then learned that the two kids were at a home in the Cottonwood area.
Officers then asked a nearby police department for help in locating the children.
Upon checking records, the eight children were found to have all been listed as 'abducted with protective custody warrants' issued for their own safety.
Fullerton was found to be the biological mother of the children but she had lost custody and then abducted the children from their foster homes. She was booked into the Shasta County Jail for her arrest warrant out of Arkansas.
The children were all taken to the Shasta County Children and Family Services to be reunited with their families back in Arkansas.
