LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — We all dream of winning the big one and holding up one of those giant lottery checks with life-changing money.
“I’ve heard stories of people who have thrown up when they win or pass out,” said Ashley McNatt, Marketing and Advertising Director for the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery.
Now it might seem impossible to be one of the select few to hit it big, but it’s not as crazy as you may think.
“Since December 1st on our online games, we’ve given out about 11.2 million dollars in prizes to players statewide. That’s on our draw games, our mega millions, our natural state jackpot lotto, our cash three, cash four game, and our fast play game," McNatt added.
In the Powerball, there was recently a $2 million dollar winner in Maumelle and a $1 million dollar winner in Little Rock— but wins both big and small have been taking place all over the Natural State.
“Our natural state jackpot game which is one of us in state games had a $250,000 winner out of Little Rock, a $130,000 win out of Fort Smith, and then a $125,000 win out of Pangburn," McNatt said.
Sounds incredible, but have there actually been more winners lately through the Arkansas Scholarship Lottery?
“Really we’ve just been publicizing our winners more and we’ve been getting some really cool stories about our winners, so we’ve been putting that out there,” she explained.
So your odds of winning are still the same in 2024 as they were in 2023, but as the old saying goes— you can’t win if you don’t play!
“Just see their emotions and how it impacts them and how it really is going to make a difference in their lives. For Arkansans that’s a big deal,” McNatt said.
