UPDATE: Donald Trump has postponed the announcement of his running mate after the attack in Nice, France, that left more than 70 people dead.

It's (maybe almost) official: Trump/Pence 2016!

The Donald Trump campaign insists the Republican candidate is still making up his mind, but it looks like the cat might be out of the bag: signs point to Indiana Gov. Mike Pence as Trump's likely pick for vice president. Ready to pretend like you already know who Pence is? Start with these eight facts about the conservative governor and three issues where he and Trump don't see eye to eye. Trump plans to make his formal announcement at 11 a.m. ET Friday in New York, but let's all still be surprised.

Being a justice doesn't mean never having to say you're sorry

In a 1-0 decision, Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg ruled that she regrets saying she didn't "want to contemplate" a Donald Trump presidency. (She also called him a "faker" who "really has an ego.") Ginsburg called her comments "ill-advised" and said, "Judges should avoid commenting on a candidate for public office." No word from Trump yet if this has satisfied his demands for an apology, or if he is sorry about calling Ginsburg "incompetent" and saying her "mind is shot."

The truth is out there. Is it possible NASA doesn't want us to find it?

It was a live stream from the International Space Station. A bright object is seen slowly falling into view. Then suddenly, the feed cuts out. Cue the conspiracy theories. NASA is accused of intentionally cutting the stream during a potential UFO sighting. The agency says that's not true, cameras mounted on the space station are controlled automatically. Not everyone is buying it. New election poll: If there is an alien invasion, who would you want as your alien ambassador, Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump?

Emmy nominations confirm: You really need HBO

Emmys are coming. HBO’s Game of Thrones (once again) leads this year's pack of nominees announced Thursday, with 23 in total. And HBO’s Veep led the comedy contenders with 17. But in the game of primetime TV, you get nominated or you get snubbed. This year’s snub list included a few shockers: Orange is the New Black was blackballed from top categories, and The Daily Show failed to nab a nomination in its first season sans Jon Stewart. The acclaimed FX miniseries The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story came in a close second with 22, The annual awards show, now in its 68th year, will air Sept. 18 on ABC. Curses! Phil Mickelson just misses historic 62

Phil Mickelson has had an amazing career, but he's also had more than his fair share of "what ifs." He added another one to the list Thursday when he just missed a 16-foot putt in the first round of the 145th British Open that would have made him the first player in 437 major championships to shoot a 62. Mickelson said a curse was the only logical explanation: "There's a curse because that ball should have been in." It's hard to feel too bad for a guy who shot a 63, smashing the course record for his lowest round in a major, but he was SO CLOSE! “I feel like crying,” he said. “It’s heartbreaking.”
