Bond is back! And new 007 star Lashana Lynch shines in 'No Time To Die' trailer

Fans are speculating Lynch will be the next 007 as the new James Bond flick is set to release in April 2020.

WASHINGTON — James Bond's retirement has been cut short and he's thrust back into action in the next Bond outing, "No Time To Die."

The first trailer for Daniel Craig's fifth James Bond film was released on Wednesday and earned rave reviews from fans.

According to a summary, after leaving active service Bond's "peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help." Leiter's appearance leads Bond onto a mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist.

One of the big highlights of the trailer includes the appearance of new 007 star Lashana Lynch. It's been widely reported that the actress, best known for her role as Maria Rambeau in "Captain Marvel," takes over the legendary 007 code name in the film when Bond is in retirement.

The trailer confirms that Lynch's character, Nomi, is a 00 agent, but doesn't definitely say one way or the other whether she's taken over for Bond.

"So stay in your lane. You get in my way, I will put a bullet in your knee. The one that works," Nomi sternly tells Bond during the trailer.

During the trailer, Craig's James Bond also comes face-to-face with the movie's villain Safin, played by Rami Malek.

"No Time to Die" hits theaters on April 8, 2020.
