LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Former President Donald Trump has now won the state of Arkansas for the third year in a row defeating Vice President Kamala Harris.
Trump will be awarded six Electoral votes from Arkansas, who currently has 198 total points to Harris' 109 as of 9:10 p.m.
While votes in Arkansas have not been counted, Trump won the state in 2020 with 62.4% of the votes over President Joe Biden.
Arkansas has been a stronghold for Republicans since 2000, when voters chose George W. Bush over Al Gore. The last time a Democrat has won the state was former President Bill Clinton in his 1996 re-election campaign.
Trump has strong allies within the Arkansas leadership since Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders served as his press secretary and all of the Republican Congressmen and Senators have expressed support for his campaign.
If Trump ends up securing enough votes to win the Electoral College, he would become the only incoming president to be convicted of a felony. He would also be the second president to win another term after losing his initial re-election campaign.
Trump, if he becomes president, would surpass Joe Biden as the oldest president ever sworn in at 78. He would be a few months older than when Biden was sworn in as president.

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders posted on X, formerly known as Twitter, congratulating Trump shortly after the AP declared his victory in Arkansas.
