LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — As the campaign trail begins to heat up for the 2024 elections, now is the time for you to register to vote or check that your information is up to date.

Although election day is not until November 5, it is important to be proactive about making sure you're registered to vote and your information is correct.

In this article, you will find information on:

  • How to register to vote
  • How to check your voter registration
  • When are the voting deadlines

Voter registration

In order to vote in the upcoming elections, you must submit your application by October 7. You can either turn that into an official voter registration agency or mail it to your local county clerk.

You can get an application at several locations including the local county clerk, a revenue or DMV office, a public library, and more. You can also download an application online, either in English or Spanish.

If you filled out voter registration information at a registration drive, organizers of that event are required to submit that information to Arkansas officials "within 21 days of the date on the application or no later than 30 days" before the election.

If you have moved from one county to another in Arkansas, you must update your information no later than four days before the election.

You may also choose to apply in person at the local county clerk's office. If you haven't received any verification on your registration, please make sure to contact your county clerk before election day.

Checking your information

To check your voter information, head over to the Arkansas Secretary of State's Voter View website.

There you can check your information as well as your local polling location. Under state law, voters are required to verify what is listed on their voter registration.

The website will also populate a sample ballot once early voting has begun so you can have a chance to do last-minute research on any candidates or issues listed.

If you find any issues with your information, please contact your local county clerk or the Secretary of State's office.

Voting deadlines

Early voting will begin on October 21 with polling locations opening at 8 a.m. and closing at 6 p.m. during the week. On the weekends, polling locations will be open from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Saturdays.

The early voting period will end at 5 p.m. on the Monday before the election.

The 2024 elections will be held on November 5 with polling locations opening at 7:30 a.m. and staying open until 7:30 p.m.

If you are in line as the polling location is closing, you are legally allowed to remain in line to cast your ballot.
