LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Republican French Hill has won another term in Arkansas's 2nd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.
The Associated Press called the race for Hill, who has been a congressman since 2015.
Hill held a strong lead with nearly 60% of the vote with 63% of the votes counted.
Democratic candidate Quintessa Hathaway had roughly 63% of the vote.
The Republicans are hoping to secure both the House and Senate. Many GOP candidates have been running on a platform to criticize the Biden administration's handling of the economy.
All four incumbent congressmen are expected to be re-elected to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives following redistricting.
In the first district, Rick Crawford (R) was declared the winner with roughly 75% of the vote as of 10:45 p.m. Crawford has been a congressman since January 2011.
In the third district, Steve Womack (R) was declared the winner with roughly 61%, according to the Associated Press. Womack has been a congressman since January 2011.
His Democratic opponent, Lauren Mallett-Hays at this time has 36% of the vote.
In the fourth district, Bruce Westerman (R) was declared the winner with 67% of the vote as of 10:45 p.m. Westerman has been a congressman since January 2015.
