Cabot Public Schools names Chris Meseke as new Head Boys Basketball Coach

Chris Meseke is replacing Jerry Bridges who recently announced his retirement.

CABOT, Ark. - The Cabot School District has announced the hiring of Chris Meseke as the new Cabot Panthers Head Boys Basketball Coach.

Meseke is replacing Jerry Bridges who recently announced his retirement. Meseke comes to Cabot from the Malvern School District where he has served as the Senior High Head Boys Basketball Coach for the past five years.

Prior to that, he was the Senior High Head Boys Basketball Coach for Fountain Lake High School. Meske has more than two decades of coaching experience. In his five years as head coach in Malvern, he has achieved numerous accomplishments including four winning seasons, two Conference Championships (1st one in 25 years for Malvern), Regional Championship, 2016 4A State Runner-Up, 2016 4A 7 Coach of the Year, and AHSCA All-Star Coach.

Superintendent Dr. Thurman stated, “We are excited for Chris Meseke to join the Panther family. He is a veteran coach who has had tremendous success building competitive boys basketball programs. We are confident Meseke will continue to grow our student-athletes and help them achieve the next level both academically and athletically.”

Meseke received his Bachelor of Science in Education from Ouachita Baptist University in 1997 and his Master of Education in Educational Leadership from Arkansas Tech University in 2003. He graduated from Cutter Morning Star High School in Hot Springs in 1993.

Meseke is married and has two young children. He officially begins July 1, 2018.
