Little Rock Central knocks off Conway to claim Class 6A state title

Alivia Montgomery scored 19 points to help Little Rock Central secure its first girls basketball state championship.

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — Little Rock Central topped defending champion Conway 58-40 on Friday at Bank OZK Arena in Hot Springs to secure the Class 6A state championship.

It's Little Rock Central's first state title in school history, and Alivia Montgomery led the team with 19 points.

The Lady Tigers and Wampus Cats showed why they were the final two teams standing in Class 6A, but Little Rock Central added an exclamation point near the end of the third quarter. Taylor Day-Davis put in a layup, which sparked a Lady Tiger run with 5:40 to go.

Alexis Cox led Conway with 14 points.
