FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas and head coach John Calipari have made another splash in the transfer portal, landing Florida Atlantic transfer guard Johnell Davis late Tuesday night.
According to On3Sports, Davis is the top portal prospect available. He reportedly visited Fayetteville this past weekend, giving the Razorbacks a veteran guard with one year of eligibility and Final Four experience.
Davis, 6-4 and 203 pounds, spent four seasons at Florida Atlantic, averaging 18.2 points per game, 6.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists this past year to earn co-American Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
He shot 48.3% from the floor and 41.4% from three-point range. Additionally, Davis has a career free-throw percentage of 84.5%.
In 2023, Davis helped the Owls make the Final Four, a season in which he was also named the Conference USA Sixth Man of the Year.
Davis has declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, but has until June 16 to withdraw and maintain his college eligibility. He marks the sixth addition to Calipari's roster since he was hired at Arkansas on April 10—joining Zvonimir Ivišić, Karter Knox, Boogie Fland, Billy Richmond and Jonas Aidoo.
