LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Hogs are set to kick off their season on Thursday at War Memorial Stadium against the UAPB Golden Lions! But before fans take to the roads, here's what you need to know to ensure you're well-prepared and safe.
Game Day Security
This year, War Memorial Stadium is utilizing metal detector screening to ensure safety for the game.
This means that phones, keys, and wallets will remain in pockets as guests move through the metal detector. For those with bags, security will issue a manual bag check if the bag beeps during the detection.
For the game, there will be a clear bag policy in accordance to all venues with the Arkansas Athletic Department.
There are also several prohibited items including alcoholic beverages, baby strollers, banners, ice chests, and weapons. For a full list of both prohibited and permitted items, you can click here.
Directions to the game
War Memorial Stadium is located in Little Rock at 1 Stadium Drive. Here's an in-depth look at how fans from all directions can make it to the capital city for the big game.
From Fayetteville: From I-49S, take exit 20 to merge onto I-40E toward Little Rock. Take exit 57 to merge onto I-430S to Texarkana. Take exit 6A to merge onto I-630E. Take exit 4 for Fair Park Blvd. Turn left at Fair Park Blvd, then right at stadium.
From Texarkana: From I-30E, take exit 129 to merge onto I-430N toward Fort Smith. Take exit 6A to merge onto I-630E. Take exit 4 for Fair Park Blvd. Turn left at Fair Park Blvd, then right at stadium.
From Pine Bluff: From I-530N, merge onto I-30E. Take exit 139B to merge onto I-630W. Take exit 4 for Fair Park Blvd. Keep right at the fork, following signs for Fair Park Blvd and merge onto Fair Park Blvd.
From Memphis, TN: From I-40W, take exit 153B on the left to merge onto I-30 toward Little Rock. Take exit 139B to merge onto I-630W. Take exit 4 for Fair Park Blvd. Keep right at the fork, following signs for Fair Park Blvd and merge onto Fair Park Blvd.
Tailgating
For Thursday's game, general parking tailgating will be awarded for $25 on a first-come basis beginning at 10 a.m.
As part of the tailgating rules, no trailers are permitted in the general tailgating area and grills must be able to fit inside of a truck bed.
As for reserved tailgating, fans are able to reserve one of over 400 spaces at a price of $150. Trailers are also not allowed in this tailgating area.
