Razorback men place 7th at NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship

Led by Romaine Beckford, who defended his crown in the high jump, and the 4x400 team, which took silver, the Hogs finished in the top ten in the country.

EUGENE, Ore. — The Razorbacks men's team once again finished the season as one of the best programs in the country Friday night.

The Hogs placed 7th overall at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship out in Eugene, Oregon.

Going into the final day of competition, Arkansas had representation in just four events.

Getting things going was Lance Lang in the 100 meter and 200 meter races. Lang would place ninth (10.15) and eighth (20.67) respectively in the events.

Over in the field, defending high jump king Romaine Beckford defended his crown by hitting a mark of 2.26 meters. The win makes it a clean sweep this year for the South Florida transfer as he also took gold in the indoor high jump as well.

Finally, the Razorbacks 4x400 meter relay team took to the track in the final event of the meet, placing second with a time of 2:58.83.

That would bring the men's competition to a close, however the women will hold their finals Saturday starting at 4:50 P.M.
