Dolly Parton will perform at halftime of the Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day game

The country music legend will perform at halftime of the Commanders-Cowboys game on Thanksgiving.

DALLAS — The Dallas Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day halftime performance is set.

And it's featuring a legendary name in country music: Dolly Parton.

The Cowboys announced the show Monday morning, posting a short video of Dolly, who was dressed in sparkling Cowboys gear, telling the camera, "I'll see y'all this Thanksgiving!"

She then rang a Salvation Army bell, as the annual halftime show is part of the Cowboys' Red Kettle Kickoff fundraiser.

Dolly will perform at halftime of the Commanders-Cowboys game on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 23. The game is set for 3:30 p.m. on CBS.

Now here's the unfortunate part for Cowboys fans: Dallas is 4-10 on Thanksgiving games when the halftime performer is a country singer.

Yes, we did the math last year.

The Cowboys are much better with pop singers performing at halftime, going 7-2, including last year's win over the New York Giants with the Jonas Brothers performing.

So take that for what it's worth. But if anyone can transcend genres, and help the Cowboys overcome a run of bad luck, it's definitely Dolly.
