Pulaski Academy to play Greenwood in 6A state championship game

The Bruins won the 5A title last year but moved up to the 6A classification this football season

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — On Saturday, the Pulaski Academy Bruins and Greenwood Bulldogs will compete for the 6A state title.

These two met in late October in Greenwood when the bulldogs took down the bruins 33-23.

Pulaski Academy is looking forward to the rematch.

"Everywhere we go and every team we play they always tell us we play hard. I told Coach Young after the game your kids outplayed us. I congratulated him and said see you at the state championship," Pulaski Academy Head Coach Anthony Lucas said.

"When we lost I took a picture as I was walking off the field with my brother and said give me your phone. I took a picture of the scoreboard printed it off and put the picture in everyone's locker. We have motivation this time, " PA Linebacker Hunt Harrison said.

This will also be a battle between powerhouse programs. Pulaski academy will try to defend its state title again but in the higher 6A class. Each program has won ten state titles.

"They're really well dropping back guarding our pass play we're a big pass offensive team. They're really good at dropping back and guarding that. We've been working on the run game a ton. I think we'll be 100 percent ready," PA quarterback Kel Busby said.

Pulaski Academy will take on Greenwood on Saturday at 6:30 PM.
