Razorback women's basketball deserves the spotlight

FAYETTEVILLE, Arkansas — Following the Razorback women's 100-52 victory over UAB on Sunday one thing became very clear to me.

This team deserves the spotlight.

I'll admit while on my honeymoon last week I didn't watch both games wire-to-wire. My wife even grew frustrated with me as I continued to check my phone, but it wasn't for the NCAA tournament.

It was the WNIT.

How many fans out there considered this team an afterthought during the season until the SEC tournament? I certainly did at time.

Now however is the time to pay attention. Talented players like North Little Rock's Malica Monk, Conway's Alexis Tolefree, and LR Central's Kiara Williams could've been on the beach for spring break. Instead they were battling for another chance to take the court and I can't wait to watch them to do it on Thursday.
