According to an Arkansas State Police spokesperson, it is confirmed that a state trooper was hit on I-40 westbound, north of Mayflower.
Police say the trooper was sitting stationary on the inside shoulder, not on a traffic stop, when the trooper's vehicle was rear-ended. The driver of the other car and the trooper were both injured and taken to the hospital.
The trooper's injuries are non-life-threatening.

According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, the accident happened on I-40 westbound, near mile marker 134.6.
