LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A detour is set to take place on the Interstate 30 eastbound Arkansas River Bridge from Nov. 1-4 in Little Rock and North Little Rock as traffic officials work to open all lanes on I-30.

According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation (ARDOT), this is the final phase in a three-step process that's intended to transition traffic into its final alignment.

ARDOT said that the construction in November will require all eastbound lanes to be closed from Nov. 1 starting at 10 p.m. until Nov. 4 at 5 a.m. Traffic officials said that this project will not impact westbound traffic.

As for the detour itself, here's a look at how it breaks down from Nov. 1-4:

  • I-30 eastbound and I-630 eastbound to I-30 eastbound traffic will be detoured onto the northbound frontage road in Little Rock (Exit 140)
  • Traffic will continue onto the northbound frontage road and use the 4th Street on-ramp to return to the I-30 eastbound river bridge; I-30 eastbound will be reduced to one lane when crossing the river bridge
  • Crossing the river, traffic will take the Broadway Street exit (Exit 141) in North Little Rock. The traffic signal at Broadway Street will be modified to allow a free flow of traffic off and on I-30 eastbound; Broadway Street traffic will be detoured to Riverfront Drive and N. Locust Street in North Little Rock
  • Traffic will continue onto N. Locust Street and take the Bishop Lindsey Avenue on-ramp to return to I-30 eastbound

Following Phase 3's completion, ARDOT said that drivers can expect to see new traffic patterns. For example, there will be six total lanes on the I-30 eastbound bridge and traffic will have to decide to exit to Broadway Street before crossing the river.

Additionally, if drivers would like to access Broadway Street, they will use the right lane to continue along I-30 eastbound, while all other traffic will use the three left lanes.
