ARDOT reveals plan to shift traffic, close ramps on Interstate 30 westbound in Saline County

Interstate 30 westbound traffic in Saline County will shift onto new pavement starting Thursday night. Here's what you need to know.

SALINE COUNTY, Ark. — The Arkansas Department of Transporation (ARDOT) announced that Interstate 30 (I-30) westbound traffic in Saline County will shift onto new pavement from 9 p.m. Thursday through 6 a.m. Friday.

Weather permitting, ARDOT said I-30 westbound traffic between Highway 67/229 (exit 114) and Highway 70 (exit 111) will move from the existing main lanes onto new pavement toward the median.

Additionally, the I-30 westbound off- and on-ramps at Highway 70 (exit 111) will be closed overnight to allow crews to shift traffic, creating slow roll operations.

According to ARDOT, traffic will be controlled by construction barrels and signage. Drivers are advised to "watch for slower traffic speeds" when approaching and traveling through all work zones.

All I-30 eastbound on and off-ramps will remain open during this work.

Detour details

  • I-30 westbound off-ramp to Highway 70 (exit 111). Traffic will continue on I-30 west, take exit 106 (Old Military Road), return to I-30 east, and take exit 111 (Highway 70).
  • Highway 70 on-ramp to I-30 west. Traffic will take the on-ramp to I-30 east, take exit 114 (Hwy. 67/229), and return to I-30 west.
