LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Thousands of Arkansans are facing power outages following the frigid temperatures and winter weather that hit the state throughout Thursday.
As of noon., more than 11,000 Arkansas households were still dealing with some form of power outage as a result of the frigid weather.
The total number sits at 12,910 customers, with the following providers seeing the most noticeable outages:
- Entergy: 10,122 customers
- First Electric Cooperative: 828 customers
- Carroll Electric Cooperative: 680 customers
The Natural State was the latest to see the impact of what some meteorologists are calling a "historic" winter storm.
Crews around the state spent time throughout the week preparing for the uncharacteristically cold temperatures and hazardous conditions that it was predicted to bring.
