Officials: Injuries reported after storm damage in Garland County

According to officials, some injuries are being reported after storm damage in Garland County.

GARLAND COUNTY, Ark. — Some small isolated storms made a big impact for some Arkansans.

The Garland County Sheriff's Office reports there was one minor injury and property damage after a strong storm blew through the area.

The storm brought down power lines and trees, some of which fell on houses. Deputies got the first call at 4:55 Wednesday afternoon of a road hazard.

The damage was limited to a couple block radius on Marion Anderson Drive in Hot Springs.

"We've canvassed and knocked on all the doors and checked and anyone we could find and make sure they were okay and so far there were no other reports of anything but property damage," said Sergeant John Schroeder with Garland County Sheriff's Office.

Officers are waiting from the National Weather Service to find out if those winds could have been tornadic.

There were around 5,000 outages reported in the state on Wednesday night.

We will update this article with more information as it becomes available.
