LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The Thanksgiving holiday is quickly approaching.

With less than two weeks left until the big day, many people across Arkansas have been wondering how the weather forecast could impact their holiday travel plans.

Though weather can oftentimes be unpredictable, we've got you covered with everything you need to know ahead of turkey day.

Our team of THV11 meteorologists will provide updates regarding the forecast as soon as they are available.

For a detailed look into the projections of to expect during the next couple of weeks, please see below:

What conditions should I expect the weekend before Thanksgiving?

At the start of the weekend on Friday evening, a surface high will start to approach from our west.

Afternoon highs will remain near average on Saturday, under mainly sunny skies.

That high will move to our south and start heading east by Sunday, which will offer increasing temperatures and moisture. Afternoon temperatures in the low 70s will return as the cloud cover starts increasing on Sunday.

The weekend will remain dry, so travel conditions are excellent.

What will conditions be like early next week?

At the beginning of the week, temperatures will be above average.

However, unsettled weather is expected to move in as a system will park itself in the mid-south. Spotty to scattered rain opportunities will return, so this may impact holiday travel.

Rain chances will continue through the big travel day on Wednesday so travel conditions won't be as ideal.

What will conditions in Arkansas look like on Thanksgiving Day?

Forecast models are hinting at another cold front approaching the state on Wednesday night and into Thanksgiving day.

This front looks to bring a significant cooldown for the holiday weekend, so if you are traveling for the big day, you might want to pack a few extra jackets and sweaters.

However, there is some uncertainty around the exact location of this front on Thanksgiving, and that will determine how long our chance for rain sticks around.
