Below we will explain what you can expect as the storm moves through the state and everything you need to know.

When will Beryl arrive

Tropical Storm Beryl is expected to approach Arkansas on Monday evening as a tropical depression.

How it impacts Arkansas

A number of watches in effect across the state, including a tornado watch that is in effect for several Arkansas counties until 12 a.m. Tuesday. While the tornado threat is low we cannot rule out an isolated, spin-up tornado.

A flood watch is in effect for much of the state from Monday evening to Tuesday evening. Heavy rain that can lead to flash flooding will be a concern for many areas.

Southwest Arkansas could start to feel the strong wind gusts and heavy rain as early as Monday evening.

Central Arkansas will start to feel these impacts by Monday night while northern locations will feel the impacts overnight into Tuesday.

As we continue through Tuesday morning, the coverage of rain and wind will shift northeast. Beryl will exit as a remnant low by Tuesday afternoon, and improving conditions are expected through Tuesday evening.

Need to stay aware

The main concerns remains the heavy rain bringing flooding to the state. Be sure to plan ahead if you live in an area prone to flooding. If you have a basement, it is good to check on your sump pump or system that helps prevent flooding.
