LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — New to the Promenade at Chenal is The Buttered Biscuit, a Northwest Arkansas staple that opened its first Little Rock location a little over a week ago.
The Buttered Biscuit is a locally owned breakfast restaurant with four locations in Northwest Arkansas. General Manager Jonathan Clark said the Little Rock location has been busy since opening.
"We're here early... every day making hand-scratch gravy and biscuits for the community,” Clark said, “We're just excited to be in central Arkansas."
The restaurant is an addition to the Promenade at Chenal shopping district in West Little Rock.
Chris Monroe is a principal with the Promenade's leasing firm, Moses Tucker Partners.
He said The Buttered Biscuit will significantly complement the shops, restaurants and entertainment already there.
"Outstanding concept, high-end ingredients [and a] great atmosphere,” Monroe said. “We're thrilled to have them."
Monroe said he's proud of what the Promenade has to offer and sees the area as a marker of how much Little Rock is growing.
"It has that feel like a Dallas or Houston or Atlanta or Nashville,” Monroe said. “It anchors a great part of town and a growing part of town."
The Buttered Biscuit will be a big part of that, but the restaurant doesn't just want to serve the community with great food—it also does so with Project Biscuit, a charity that helps underprivileged individuals.
Every time a customer orders a specific menu item—the Eureka Sandwich—$1 goes towards the resources Project Biscuit provides, including scholarships.
"We've partnered with Pulaski Tech Culinary School... so it's been a really exciting start already,” Clark said.
In the meantime, the store will continue its mission of providing a great breakfast and an atmosphere to match.
"I think our guests have been super satisfied," Clark said. "Not only with our food but our quality service."
The Buttered Biscuit plans to open a second Little Rock location in the fall of 2024.
