Arkansas State Police arrest suspect involved in Jacksonville shooting that injured child

Jacksonville police say one of the suspects involved in the shooting of a five-year-old child in early June has been arrested.

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — Arkansas State Police arrested 28-year-old Terry Rhodes Jr., a Jacksonville shooting suspect who has been on the run since early June.

The Jacksonville Police Department said Rhodes was arrested Tuesday and will be charged with 14 counts of terroristic act, one count of possession of firearms by certain persons, one count of first-degree battery, two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of aggravated assault.

He is currently being held at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility.

Rhodes and 22-year-old Kyriel Wiliams were identified as suspects in a shooting that injured a five-year-old child near the 300 block of North Bailey Street on June 3.

According to Jacksonville police, officers found the child with non-life-threatening injuries when they arrived at the scene. First responders then took the child to a nearby hospital to receive treatment.

After being last seen one week ago, Jacksonville police are searching for two shooting suspects connected to an incident that sent a child to the hospital.

Authorities said Rhodes was the driver of a new model red Ford Mustang when the shooting happened. Williams still hasn't been located.
