17-year-old Jacksonville teen arrested for attempt to commit capital murder

Jacksonville police arrested two men connected to a shooting that injured an 18-year-old on Cherry Street in June.

JACKSONVILLE, Ark. — The Jacksonville Police Department arrested a second suspect involved in the shooting of an 18-year-old man near Cherry Street on June 20.

According to authorities, warrants were approved to arrest 17-year-old Davion Williams for criminal attempt to commit capital murder and criminal mischief.

Williams, who will be charged as an adult, was already at the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility when the warrant was served.

Williams' arrest marks the second in this investigation, as 28-year-old Malike Roy turned himself over to authorities on June 23. Roy was charged with criminal attempt to commit capital murder, terroristic act, first-degree battery and criminal mischief.

Jacksonville police said the 18-year-old man who was shot received treatment at the hospital for his injuries.
