MARIANNA, Ark. — An Arkansas woman has now pleaded guilty and has been sentenced to four decades in prison for her involvement in permitting abuse which led to the death of her young son.

According to reports, in December 2022, the body of 5-year-old Blu Rolland was found underneath the floorboards of his family's home.

After making that discovery, the Lee County Sheriff's Office asked for help from the Criminal Investigation Division of Arkansas State Police.

During the investigation, agents at the home also uncovered injuries to a 6-year-old girl who lived in the home. Both 34-year-old Nathan Bridges and 30-year-old Ashley Rolland, the children’s mother, were taken to the Lee County Detention Center.

Bridges had previously been sentenced to 60 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections, and on July 15, 2024, Rolland pleaded guilty to charges of first-degree murder and first-degree battery.

On August 8, 2024, Rolland was sentenced to 40 years in the Arkansas Department of Corrections.
