AUBURN, Alabama — No. 19 Arkansas opened the 2024 SEC season with a doubleheader sweep over Auburn on Saturday at Jane B. Moore Field in Alabama.
The Razorbacks, powered by the bats of first baseman Bri Ellis and catcher Kennedy Miller, dominated the Tigers 6-1 in game one, followed by a 5-1 victory in game two.
Ellis finished a combined 3 of 5 at the plate with four RBI and one home run, while Miller added three RBI and two home runs on four total hits.
Arkansas sent four pitchers to the circle in the doubleheader sweep, including Morgan Leinstock, who started the opening game and pitched all seven innings, allowing one run on four hits with 10 strikeouts.
Robyn Herron started game two for the Hogs and allowed one run on four hits with four strikeouts and four walks in 3.1 innings of work before Hannah Camenzind and Leinstock came on in relief.
Camenzind and Leinstock shut down the Tigers' bats as the pair didn't allow a hit in the final 3.1 innings. It was also Razorback head coach Courtney Deifel's 300th win with the program.
