North Little Rock police arrest man wanted for capital murder in 2017 homicide

The North Little Rock Police Department has arrested a 37-year-old man wanted for capital murder and aggravated robbery in a 2017 investigation.

NORTH LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — The North Little Rock Police Department has now arrested a suspect who was wanted for his involvement in a 2017 homicide.

37-year-old Marshadrick Waddy was wanted for capital murder and aggravated robbery in the July 2017 homicide of 36-year-old Damian Mitchell in the 4800 block of Ira Street.

According to authorities, North Little Rock police officers responded to the shooting around 3:38 a.m. on July 28, 2017, and found Mitchell "lying in the street with a fatal gunshot wound."

Just before noon on February 12, Mr. Waddy accompanied by his attorney surrendered himself to North Little Rock detectives.

He was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Pulaski County Regional Detention Facility. He was charged with capital murder and aggravated robbery. 

Waddy is being held without bond until he makes his first court appearance in the North Little Rock District Court at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 13.

Detectives anticipate making more arrests in this case within the coming weeks.
